Your role

The primary focus of this internship is on the organization of the NGAP global summit as well as the outreach and promotion activities in relation to advancing NGAP objectives. Terms of reference Under the supervision of the NGAP programme manager, the intern will:

  • Assist in the overall preparation of the NGAP Global Summit, workshops, webinars and associated activities
  • Support the coordination and preparation of background and reference and outreach materials as well as communication activities on NGAP
  • Help with updating and maintaining the NGAP Global Summit website and other social media platforms to ensure accurate and relevant information
  • Prepare reports and meeting minutes as needed
  • Assist in drafting correspondences, speeches, talking points, presentations, and other materials
  • Conduct research on the latest data, best practices and information concerning NGAP initiatives
  • Contribute to the redesign of ICAO's public website content related to NGAP
  • Support activities related to coordination and communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

About you

Educational background:

At the time of application, candidates are required to have completed or be enrolled in a graduate degree programme (second-level university degree or higher) preferably in a field of study related to political science, law, public administration, management, or a related field in the aviation sector.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including word, excel and powerpoint. 
  • Excellent communication and research skills. 
  • Familiarity with website content management systems and social media platforms is an asset. Practical experience in using collaborative documentation processing tools or work management platforms is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of ICAO and its mandate, the aviation sector or the United Nations system is desirable.

  • Creativity: Actively seeks to improve programmes or services; offers new and different options to solve problems or meet client needs; promotes and persuades others to consider new ideas; takes calculated risks on new and unusual ideas; thinks "outside the box"; takes an interest in new ideas and new ways of doing things; is not bound by current thinking or traditional approaches.

Essential requirements:

Fluent reading, writing and speaking abilities in English. Desirable requirements: A working knowledge of a second language of the Organization (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).
