Your role

Job Description:

This internship program is designed to build on your university studies. You will join one of the Risk Engineering Teams and work with experienced colleagues to build a strong understanding of Zurich’s risk management process. You will have the chance to engage with colleagues across ZRS, building a wide and diverse network across the practice, allowing you to enhance and test your knowledge.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with risk insight
  • Influencing customer decisions
  • Developing your technical knowledge including undertaking site visits with other risk engineers

About you

What You’ll Need:

  • You must have an indefinite, full right to work and reside in the UK. Zurich cannot accept applications from those who require sponsorship to work in the UK. You must have resided in the UK for a minimum of three consecutive years.
  • Be in your penultimate year of undergraduate study and predicted minimum 2:1 degree ideally in an Engineering degree such as civil, chemical, mechanical, or fire risk.
  • At least 96 UCAS points – CCC grades (or equivalent) from 3 A-level subjects
  • A* to C grade (9 to 4) in Maths and English GCSE
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Training & development

Zurich's summer internships are ideal for undergraduate students. As well as gaining some great experience, successful completion of your internship in 2025 could lead to you being offered a place in one of the graduate programs starting in 2026.

Note: The role of a Risk Engineer is home-based with an element of travel to customer sites and occasionally Zurich offices for training and meetings. Risk Engineers spend around 30-40% of their time on-site.
