WSP is currently initiating a search for an Early Career Structural Engineer - Bridge Inspection to join their dynamic Structures Bridge Design/Inspection Group in New England. They are looking to hire in Boston & Worcester, MA/ Glastonbury, CT/ Merrimack, NH/Providence, RI.

Your Impact

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review previous bridge inspection reports and assist in the planning of field operations.
  • Perform inspection work and compile reports.
  • Receive directions from the Project Manager and other senior staff.
  • Technical compliance.
  • Complete training on assigned tasks.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

About you

Who You Are

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience
  • Previous experience or knowledge in bridge inspection or design or other bridge-related work is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically capable of performing continuous field work including working at heights and in close quarters, climbing, carrying ladders and gear, working in adverse weather conditions, etc.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license and ability to successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.
  • Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Prior internship related to the degree of study and the specific engineering discipline.
  • Passing of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam
  • AutoCAD/Microstation capabilities 
  • Microsoft Office Capabilities
