Your role

Job description:

This position is within WSP's environmental division (Mining Engineering and Geology). This division provides a full range of services to industrial and mining operators, including all engineering services. The intern will work within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the planning and execution of local and international mining projects.

What you can expect to do here:

  • Participate in design reviews of mining projects.
  • Evaluate new technologies, mining methods and mine designs.
  • Analyze data and select mine design parameters.
  • Participate in technical studies on mining projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of bids for underground and open pit mining project evaluations and technical reports (PEA, PFS, FS or other)
  • Participate in the design of ventilation circuits for underground mines using Ventsim software.
  • Collaborate in the design of mines using specialized software such as Deswik (asset).
  • Request budgetary prices for mining equipment or others.
  • Assist project managers as needed.
  • Perform all other related tasks that may help in the realization of the project.

Training & development

During the internship, you will learn to evaluate mining technologies, analyze mine design data, and participate in technical studies. You will also gain hands-on experience with specialized software like Ventsim and Deswik, and assist in preparing technical reports and project bids.
