Your role

Program Overview for Sustainable Cities and Transport 

WRI India is seeking an intern for the Sustainable Cities and Transport Program to support the work on decarbonizing freight. The objective of the project is to develop a zero-emission vehicle transition plan for The Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (SUPPLYCO).​ The outcome of this work is to develop a transition framework for government-owned/controlled fleets. 

How your day will unfold:

  • Undertaking secondary research on the landscape of tractors, and global examples of agricultural mechanization.
  • Conducting analysis on different data sets and generating actionable insights.
  • Participate in interactions with officials from the UP Government, industry stakeholders, OEMs, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the preparation of different types of collateral like reports, slide decks, etc.
  • Contribute to the planning and management of events organized under the project like stakeholder convenings, webinars, exhibitions, etc.
  • Contribute to outreach efforts to disseminate or debate project outcomes with internal and external stakeholders.

About you

Qualifications and requirements WRI seeks:

  • Currently pursuing or graduating in statistics, transport planning, transport engineering, urban planning, public policy, or other relevant fields.
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research
  • Proficiency in GIS software (like QGIS) and MS Office is a must.
  • Ability to generate high-quality research. Good writing skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely, think creatively and work efficiently under high pressure.
