Your role

What you will be doing

As a Mechanical Engineering Co-op, the candidate will perform complex and challenging engineering tasks in the field of product development for BEV vehicles. As part of the engineering team focusing on battery electric vehicles, they will be involved in developing state-of-the-art technologies. The candidate will work with the PWTI-BEV team, engaging with one of the fastest-growing technologies, and will collaborate with passionate, experienced, and enthusiastic engineers, with a designated team member serving as a mentor. Their goals will include delivering innovative concepts and technical solutions for BEV trucks, supporting engineers in their daily tasks, and gaining hands-on experience with real-life engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Solve real world engineering problems involving the design, testing and/or manufacturing of Cooling Systems parts for Battery Electric Vehicles.
  • Lead and/or contribute to the develop of advanced concept.
  • Develop parts in Creo CAD system and manage product documentations.
  • Work closely with simulation engineers to ensure the components meet the performance requirements with a heavy focus on minimizing power consumption.
  • Lead and/or contribute to the validation requirements to ensure the durability requirements are achieved. 

About you

Who you are

A Mechanical Engineering intern prepared to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment, gaining experience and knowledge in various aspects of engineering (mechanical, electrical, software, design, production, etc.). As a valued member of the engineering team within GTT, participants will have the opportunity to work directly with the engineers in the department. GTT values collaboration and lifelong learning, with the goal of contributing to their development while providing an opportunity to work in a business environment within the manufacturing industry. They will report to the Group Manager of PWTI BEV & FC.

Required

  • Must be enrolled and pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies. 
  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75. 
  • Co-ops are not enrolled in academic courses during their co-op rotation and may work up to 40 hours per week.

The salary range for this role is $16.00 - $46.00 per hour.
