The intern assignments allow students to integrate knowledge and skills in manners that are mutually beneficial to the students and Volvo Group.

As the North America Business Control department within Volvo Group Trucks Operations – Quality and Engineering, they are responsible for the accounting, financial reporting, and forecasting for the Quality and Engineering department and for overseeing Product Project budgets for GTO.

Their work is challenging and rewarding as they help the Volvo Group fulfill its mission of “driving prosperity through transport solutions.” This opportunity in Greensboro, NC also offers the ability to learn an interesting aspect of the business while making a positive impact on the environment.

What you will do?

  • Assisting with month-end closing reporting.
  • Forecasting financials in the estimate process.
  • Working with Product Project budget forecasts and follow-ups and providing suggestions for forecast accuracy improvements.
  • Understanding how to take large data sets and create visualizations for storytelling and action planning using tools such as Power BI.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement activities including process improvements and automation, helping the Quality and Engineering team quantify and recognize the business impact of improvements, and analyzing productivity.

Salary & benefits 

The compensation for the role will range from $16.00 to $46.00 per hour.

  • Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors currently enrolled and pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Management.
  • Highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Curious and not afraid to ask questions.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks while utilizing critical thinking skills.
  • Apply your knowledge on the job and communicate your knowledge to individuals within the organization.
  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.
  • Fall interns may work up to 30 hours per week.
