Your Role

Volvo Group seeks Fall 2024 interns for Digitalization and Continuous Improvement roles within production teams. Offering a dynamic environment, interns will engage in VPS aspects, focusing on enhancing efficiency and quality. With GTO's support, interns will gain valuable experience in engineering and continuous improvement, fostering personal and professional growth in the manufacturing industry.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Drive lean methodology
  • Data Analysis and Quality Improvement
  • Data analysis focuses on standards and repeatability
  • Quality and production process review and improvements
  • Help facilitate continuous improvement and identify opportunities on your own to implement
  • Participate in project planning, implementation and improvements
  • Works with the production teams on Problem Solving tools
  • Assist with Plant Summer Shutdown planning activities
  •  Help build Training Material on Problem Solving
  • Assist in follow-up, reports, and flow charts.  Participate in functional meetings.
  • Good attitude & continuous improvement mindset are critical to performing daily activities in this engineering role

Training & Development

Interns in Digitalization and Continuous Improvement at Volvo Group will learn to drive lean methodology, conduct data analysis for quality improvement, and participate in project planning and implementation. With hands-on experience and guidance from GTO, interns will develop problem-solving skills and contribute to process enhancements, fostering personal and professional growth in engineering within the manufacturing industry.

Salary & Benefits

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $16.00 - $46.00.

About You

Education and Program Requirements:

  • Applicant must be pursuing a Data Science and Analytics Degree at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies before starting the internship. 
  • Fall interns may work up to 30 hours per week.
  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Valid US Work authorization.
