Your Role

What you will do:

They are excited to offer an internship opportunity for a motivated and tech-savvy individual to join their Digitalization and IT team as a Fall 2023 Intern at Volvo Trucks North America located in the beautiful New River Valley. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in the dynamic fields of digitalization and information technology. As an intern, you will have the chance to work closely with their IT professionals, contribute to meaningful projects, and gain insights into how technology drives their business forward.

Training & Development

Interns with Volvo Trucks North America's Digitalization and IT team will acquire practical experience in digitalization and IT, applying theoretical knowledge in a dynamic environment. They'll receive hands-on training and mentorship from seasoned professionals, refining skills in software development, data analysis, and digital transformation strategies. Furthermore, interns will contribute to meaningful projects, gaining insights into project management, problem-solving, and collaboration, with potential opportunities for continued engagement or full-time employment based on performance and business requirements.

Salary & Benefits

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $16.00 - $46.00.

About You

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Recent graduates may also be considered.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 
  • Strong passion for technology, digitalization, and innovation.
  • Solid foundational knowledge of IT concepts, including hardware, software, networking, and cybersecurity.
  • Familiarity with programming languages, databases, and cloud computing is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute positively to group discussions.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and take initiative.
  • Detail-oriented mindset and ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Previous relevant coursework, projects, or internships in IT or digitalization is a bonus.
