Your role

This Risk and Compliance Intern position provides support with broad integrity, risk and compliance-related matters for Volkswagen Group Australia, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements and current relevant legislation. This position supports the implementation and monitoring of the preventive Compliance Management System ("CMS") in VGA. It also includes independent advice of management and departments in VGA, supporting targeted training for employees regarding legal and compliance requirements, as well as assistance with internal violations of Compliance regulations. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Provision of independent advice regarding Risk Management to VGA’s management and employees.
  • Implementation of Risk Management processes in accordance with the Group Risk’s standards, as well as Australian legal requirements (if applicable).
  • Assessment of risks for VGA and assistance with the development of mitigating risk control measures, to reduce the main acute risks in coordination with the departments concerned. 
  • Reporting (regular and ad-hoc) relevant issues to senior Risk Management functions in the Group and relevant boards.
  • Implementation of the requirements of Standard ICS, as well as the Quarterly Risk Reporting process.
  • Ongoing monitoring, assessment and improvement of the Risk Management program.
  • Assistance in the selection of relevant target groups and the corresponding training/information of employees. 
  • Assistance in the creation of a local business continuity management plan to limit risks.
  • Support with, Root Cause Analysis and Lessons Learned processes. 
  • Assist with the measures and processes that ensure compliance with minimum legal standards by other employees.
