Your role

This intern role sits within the Business Development arm of our Group Aftersales division, which supports the expanding set of Brands that sit under the Volkswagen banner here in Australia. You’ll be part of a strong, dynamic team, where diversity of thinking, challenging the status quo and implementing the smart use of emerging technologies are encouraged. A team that looks at new and innovative ways to support the overall Volkswagen group operation.

Whilst focused heavily on large sets of data, this role offers exposure to virtually all elements of the complex machine that is aftersales and offers a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for data who wants to kick-start their business career in the automotive industry. We want someone to bring fresh perspectives and lots of questions about how we can continue to improve our operations.

This role will support a variety of functions within the Aftersales team that includes:

  • General report preparation and distribution
  • Automation of reports and implementation of Business Intelligence tools
  • Maintenance of invoicing and purchase order processes
  • Improvement of key operational processes
  • Project support

Career progression

The core component of training at Volkswagen is vocational training or, for young people eligible to enter university, cooperative education (dual study programs combining university studies with on-the-job training). About you

To succeed in this role, candidates will need to possess the following:

  • Be available to work full-time (37.5 hours each week) for a period of 12 months
  • Be able to excel in a corporate environment, building relationships through great communication (written and verbal)
  • Have experience with Business Intelligence tools, complemented with excellent skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Enjoy working with large data sets and translating them to others
  • Possess strong inbuilt attention to detail
  • Be eager to learn and bring fresh ideas
  • Enjoy a working style that mixes autonomy with strong collaboration
