Your role
Main duties and responsibilities:
Working closely with the Graduate Support Officer, and colleagues across Student Careers, your main duties will include:
Providing initial signposting to career information and services.
This might include demonstrating resources to students and graduates, responding to queries in-person or electronically, researching information, and referring queries to Careers Service staff as necessary.
Telephoning graduates who have indicated they would like support from the Careers Centre, and helping make them aware of services that are available and offering initial support.
Raising awareness of how to make effective use of careers, employability, and opportunities among Leeds students and graduates by contributing to promotional activities and resources, including blog posts, videos, and social media.
Working with communications staff at the Careers Centre to write copy for graduate newsletters and social media posts.
Contributing graduate perspectives to all aspects of work and engagement activities.
Offering basic advice on key employability topics, including CVs, cover letters, and LinkedIn (full training will be provided).
Undertaking research projects, both individually and as part of a group, to understand the level of support graduates from the University want from the Careers Centre and how can best communicate with them;
Helping to organize events for a Graduate audience;
Managing the provision of careers-related tools for graduates (e.g. LinkedIn Learning) and leading on maximising graduate engagement with these;

Training & development
During the 12 months, you will be provided with all the training you need for this role and you can access courses run by the Organisational Development & Professional Learning team. This internship will enable you to develop a range of skills including communication, research, online event management, and marketing.
