Support the Widening Access team to prepare, coordinate and deliver high-quality, innovative outreach activities, programmes, and digital resources in line with the aims of the University’s Access and Participation Plan, Widening Participation strategy and Widening Access team development plan.
Support team members in the development of exciting and innovative outreach programmes and plans.
Produce a range of high-quality, innovative and creative materials and resources for widening access activities appropriate for a range of target cohorts.
Support or facilitate online, on-campus and in-school activity as required.
Be an outstanding, knowledgeable and professional representative of the University at school and college HE fairs, visits and other relevant events; liaise appropriately with staff, students and parents in targeted schools; provide up-to-date information regarding progression routes to students wishing to progress to HE; maintain full and detailed knowledge of all progression opportunities, including the University of Derby portfolio of courses, application and admission processes and student funding in order to provide HE-related information, advice and guidance.
Be a pro-active member of Student Engagement and engage in cross-departmental activities to; support colleagues across the institution to deliver University activity; raise the internal profile of the Widening Access team; and pursue continuing professional development opportunities.
Support the delivery of activities relating to the University’s involvement in wider outreach collaborative networks.
Record all activities and other agreed information as required for evaluation, statistical returns and reporting progress against targets.
Liaise closely with the University’s Schools and Colleges Liaison team in order to ensure coordinated communications and provision to schools, following stated procedures and ways of working where appropriate.
Provide administrative support to the Schools and Colleges Liaison Team regarding the organization of student employees, including work allocation.
Supervise and provide guidance to student employees when requested to do so by a member of the Widening Access Team or Schools and Colleges Liaison Team.
Support the training of student employees in regard to the needs of the work of the Widening Access Team.
Provide administrative support to the Widening Access Team including overseeing the Widening Access email account and any other administrative tasks as required.
Develop and maintain administrative processes to support the work of the Widening Access Team.
Support the Senior Widening Access Officer, and Evaluation and Evidence Manager, to monitor the evaluation of Widening Access activities and coordinate the storage and processing of data in accordance with GDPR and the University of Derby data protection policy and EMWPREP requirements.
Carry out duties in a safe and proper manner to comply with the University’s Health & Safety Policy and Equal Opportunities Policy.

Honours degree or equivalent qualification awarded within the last 2 years

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a recent graduate to support the development, delivery and evaluation of the University’s widening access outreach work and other associated activities targeting under-represented learners in schools and colleges. The role will help raise the awareness, aspiration and attainment of targeted learners and the profile of progression routes into higher education through the provision of a range of activities and events in a variety of settings, including workshops, presentations, experience days, and virtual delivery using conference call software.
