This position is located in the Office of Administration of Justice (OAJ), the incumbent reports to the IT Officer. This internship is for a period of six months. The program is normally full-time, i.e. an intern is expected to work five days per week (9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.), a total of 35 hours per week. Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background, the business unit to which he/she is assigned, and the period during which he/she will undertake the internship.
The Office of Administration of Justice is an independent office responsible for the overall coordination of the system of administration of justice, contributing to its functioning in a fair, transparent, and efficient manner. In this regard, the Office provides substantive, technical, and administrative support to the United Nations Dispute Tribunal and the United Nations Appeals Tribunal through the Registries; assists staff members and their representatives in pursuing claims and appeals through the Office of Staff Legal Assistance; and provides assistance, as appropriate, to the Internal Justice Council.
During this six-month internship, interns will have opportunities to broaden their experience and knowledge about the analysis and application of statistical procedures to the business data of a legal department. Responsibilities Interns perform tasks under the overall supervision of the IT Officer.

To qualify for an internship by the United Nations Headquarters Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
Knowledge in Python, Java, Drupal, Web development, MS SharePoint, SQL
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position(s) advertised, fluency in English is required; Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
Visa and Work Authorization Mandatory Requirements:
For internships in the United States of America, interns who are not United States citizens, permanent residents, or on another non-immigrant (such as an F1 visa) status, will be required to obtain a G4 visa. Interns will be responsible for ensuring that they have a valid visa, and if required, employment authorization (CPT/OPT), allowing them to undertake the internship.
Terms of the internship program:
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions. Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the country where the internship is undertaken may be required to obtain the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization. Successful candidates should discuss their specific visa requirements before accepting the internship offer.
