Welcome to ASIC’s Graduate Virtual Experience.
This activity has been developed by ASIC’s Data Science team within the Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO). The Data Science team in the CDAO functions as an internal consulting team for data analysis at ASIC. Other teams approach the CDAO for various data analytics needs. On a given day, an analyst in the CDAO team could working on an ad-hoc piece of data analysis on behalf of another team, or work on a larger project that helps other teams perform data analysis. These larger projects include building dashboards, auditing data pipelines, or use natural language processing to speed up the analysis of written documents.
This Virtual Experience Program is self-paced and should take only 2 to 4 hours to complete.

Throughout the program, you’ll learn and develop deep insights into what it is actually like to work as a graduate at ASIC. Apply your engineering to a real-world problem & gain practical experience and knowledge to draw upon in interviews.
Exercising your basic data manipulation skills
Learn simple slicing, dicing, filtering and manipulation
Have given thought to how data translates to insights in a financial context
Module 1: Entry Level - Charting and interpreting data (1 - 2 hours)
In this module, you will create a chart of financial advisor numbers and interpret the data
Module 2: Advanced: Research and Data Analysis (1 - 2 hours)
Analyse publicly available information on financial advisors to draw out key insights
