Your role

Welcome to one of the Navy's most prestigious and demanding roles.

As a Clearance Diver you'll train to the peak of your potential, learning to carry out a range of challenging underwater duties including demolitions, explosives disposal and the establishment of mine counter-measures.

You'll also carry out complex underwater repairs and maintenance and be employed in a Special Forces role for covert military operations.

You'll need exceptional levels of fitness to apply for this job, then the Navy will train you to get even fitter. Your aptitude for diving will be tested and once accepted you'll undergo rigorous training in seamanship, scuba diving, clearance diving, demolitions and the use of small arms.

The standards you'll be expected to reach are some of the highest in the Navy, but the work and lifestyle are second to none.

  • Fully-paid training

  • Some of your time will be spent at sea

Entry Requirements

  • At least 17 years of age
  • Australian Citizen
  • Year 10 completion with passes in English and Mathematics The potential to reach and maintain peak fitness levels
