HS2 Birmingham International station - AECOM are delivering this new station for Laing O’Rourke in a full multi-disciplinary team.
Belfast Children's Hospital - A new circa £300m hospital in the centre of Belfast.
AlUla, Saudi Arabia - AECOM have recently joined a strategic partnership with RCU to help develop all aspects of this world heritage site, as one of the mega projects that are part of Saudi Vision 2030.
MoJ & MoD Framework – AECOM have multiple framework awards for government departments, to design from prisons to barracks, and from complex high-security buildings to masterplan defence sites around the globe.
Core responsibilities:
Assisting in the preparation of conceptual design work and the presentation of projects.
Supporting the design development of project proposals and feasibility studies.
Supporting the technical delivery and implementation of projects including preparing working drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
About you
Qualifications
BA (Hons) degree in Architecture or equivalent, Minimum 2:1 or equivalent
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, also Photoshop preferable; plus REVIT is essential.
Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external clients, both verbally & in writing with the confidence to engage with a variety of people (clients, colleagues, stakeholders and sub-contractors alike) and the aptitude to rationally explain, explore and discuss technical issues and capture feedback
Enthusiastic, hard-working, with ambition and drive
Ability to structure & prioritise work effectively through close cooperation with the team as a whole
Ability to work in a team and independently without losing initiative & focus.
Report writing skills.
Ideally, a full Driving licence to attend sites where public transport is not available and also to transport equipment where necessary.
Those working in the Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast offices will be required to obtain UK government security clearances.

As a Part 1 Architectural Assistant, you will work with senior members of the teams on a wide range of projects at all stages of the design and construction process. From day one, you will be involved in important and challenging projects. Every day will be different, and you will be required to use your skills and knowledge to solve problems and provide key input into the projects. You will work in a team to provide technical solutions, and your day could involve anything from producing designs, and graphics, to assisting in technical reports, travelling to construction sites or participating in client meetings.
