Your Role

The ideal successful candidate will have a general understanding of civil design, and construction, and some experience in civil engineering. You will be expected to work successfully within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and clients. You will have a high level of initiative, motivation, and display drive, energy, and enthusiasm for getting things done. You will also be expected to support the delivery of linear conveyance infrastructure to customers mostly within the municipal stormwater, water, and wastewater sector.

This on-site position is expected to commence in September 2024.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
  • Assist in the design of structures related to water and wastewater plans.
  • Assist in writing technical memorandums and reports.
  • Attending construction workshops and assisting engineers with any construction support.
  • Assisting in preparing engineering-related calculations and developing drawings.
  • Assisting with the preparation of construction cost estimates.
  • Assisting with the preparation of project specifications and contract documents.

About You

Minimum Requirement:

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with the intent to continue after the internship unless graduating.
  • Candidates must have completed 2 years of study in their program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in civil engineering, construction, planning, and design construction inspection.
  • Brief familiarity with structural design software, such as Sap, and Staad Pro.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and clients.
  • Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Familiar with Excel, Word, AutoCAD/ Civil 3D.

The expected wage range for this position is CAD $20.00 to CAD $25.00/hour and the benefits may include:
