Your Role

This role will be on a temporary 4-month term starting in September 2024 and the responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare structural and civil design calculations and drawings for Bridges, Culverts, Roadways, and Retaining walls.
  • Structural modelling with Midas Civil.
  • On-Site Structure inspections
  • Design for municipal infrastructure using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation
  • Inspect all phases of construction to ensure that the work is carried out in accordance to specifications regarding material requirements, alignment, grade, finish, compaction, etc.
  • Document the site conditions, equipment, material installations, quantities and the work being performed by the Contractor
  • Confirm that all onsite testing during installation is in conformance with the Contract Specifications
  • Ensures deficiencies are corrected prior to acceptance of the work
  • Ensuring overall data quality and integrity
  • Prepare documentation for design projects and reports
  • Undertake quality control procedures
  • Assures that engineering related issues are promptly relayed to the Project Manager for action and follows up to assure timeliness of resolution efforts

The expected rate range is $18.00/hour - $25.00/hour based on location and individual qualifications.

About You

Qualifications;

Minimum requirement:

  • Candidates must currently be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a Civil Engineering program.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Interest in Roads and Bridges
  • Previous Bridge Engineering Co-op
  • Structural Modeling Experience
  • Field Experience
  • Bilingual French/English
