BTS Internship Program – Technical Description
As an AbbVie intern, you will participate in a paid 10-12-week summer program that involves social and development activities, along with housing benefits for eligible students.
You will work on meaningful assignments with a technical focus that has a real impact on their business and patients worldwide, while also combining technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving.

The majority of BTS Interns will be placed in Lake County, IL, though there is a possibility of being placed within any U.S. AbbVie or Allergan Aesthetics location. Placements will be based on business needs and individual preferences.
About you
Minimum Qualifications:
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in a related discipline:
Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Engineering, User Design, and Business Administration with a minor or concentration in one of the above fields; or related fields
Graduation date between Dec 2025 – June 2027
Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship
School or work experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation date between Dec 2025 – June 2026 preferred
Ideal candidates will combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving abilities
Previous internship or related experience
Proven track record of teamwork, adaptability, innovation, initiative, and integrity
Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
A cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher preferred

AbbVie strongly considers high-performing interns as candidates for the Business Technology Solutions Early Talent Program – Technical (BTS ETP). AbbVie’s BTS ETP – Technical is a two-year program with a 24-month assignment. The assignment is carried out in a variety of areas that include technical development and systems analysis. The goal of the program is to identify and develop AbbVie’s BTS early talent and identify potential future BTS leaders.
