Your role

Abbott’s Financial Professional Development Program (FPDP) prepares college graduates with majors in Accounting and Finance for financial management roles. The goal of the global program is to identify and develop Abbott’s future global Finance leaders. Ideal candidates will combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving abilities. Each FPDP participant will be assigned to a senior financial leader who will mentor and advise them. 

Each FPDP participant spends two years in the program, during which time they will complete four different six-month assignments across a variety of Abbott businesses and areas of Finance, such as corporate and division headquarters, manufacturing plants, and other operating environments.

About you

Basic qualification

• Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or similar  
• Geographically mobile and willing to do at least one six-month assignment outside of the home country 
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the home country (within the EU or the UK) 
• Fluent level of English for written and verbal business communication 
• Desire to pursue certification as a Qualified Accountant 

Preferred qualification

• Strong academic records  
• Demonstrated leadership through organizational involvement  
• Minimum of one internship in Finance or Accounting
