As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Execute designs in a solid model system (CREO) and release all documentation through Windchill PLM
Support sample construction and testing following all required safety protocols
Document design robustness using simulations, analysis, and testing methods
Present material for technical reviews including but not limited to tolerance loops, ANSYS analysis, test results, drawing documentation, and BOMs
Learn and support manufacturing readiness through review of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) methodologies and the ability to interact with cross-functional teams
Ensure that development documentation protocols and procedures are followed under established QA process and ISO 9001
About you
Qualifications for the role
Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Mechanical or electrical Engineering or equivalent, in the United States.
Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions
Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality
Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress
