Your role

Every day's work in ABB NZ is to innovate and develop solutions that create safer, smart, sustainable electrification. Napier's products are designed specifically to solve power quality problems and stabilize networks. ABB NZ internships provide selected candidates with project-based work. You’ll receive mentoring and coaching plus the opportunity to do rewarding work that will enhance your academic career and personal development. They're offering a number of summer internship opportunities in Napier, Hawkes Bay within their R&D, Agile and Service Teams. 

You’ll mainly be accountable for:

  • Delivering the assigned tasks/projects within the internship period
  • Assisting with researching possible options and solutions for the client
  • Problem-solving
  • Developing an understanding of ABB’s products and services
  • Learning about the way the division and the wider ABB conducts their operations

About you

Qualifications for the role:

  • Currently in your second year studying a Degree in Engineering (Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical or Software/Control)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team to solve complex problems
  • Demonstrate a high level of self-motivation
  • You must have the legal right to work in New Zealand
  • You’ll need to organise your own accommodation in Hawke’s Bay and be able to undertake a summer internship that commences in November 2024 and concludes in February 2025
